Below is my humble little assg for the subject of Knowing God. It's still rather repetitive, i think.
Special revelation is God’s revelation of Himself toward humankind that’s tightly-coupled to the redemptive purpose of God. Special revelation is only particular to God’s chosen people at particular times as opposed to general revelation that’s universal to all people in all places at all times (i.e. creation). It culminates in the incarnation of Christ, as a representation of God’s being in person (Heb. 1:3), and is mediated through the Scripture, as the inspired words of God (2 Tim. 3:16). While general revelation makes known God’s power and divinity, special revelation makes known God’s saving grace, which must be initiated by God alone. Therefore, it provides the content necessary for salvation, in which it supplies the redemptive knowledge of God that is directed toward particular sinners.
Scripture conveys that humankind is created by God (Gen. 1:26, Acts 17:26). As Creator, God exists apart from humankind. As creature, humankind is dependant upon God, His creator. These facts assert that God and humankind are different in being, that also carries to a distinction in knowing. As a man’s heart is only known to himself, so God’s spirit knows of God Himself (1 Cor. 2:11). Yet, since God is the Creator, His knowledge surpasses ours, indeed, we are known to Him, but not the opposite, the creature doesn’t posses God’s self-knowledge, since humankind is His subordinate creature with purposes, which can be assumed why God is to reveal Himself in order that humankind would have relationship with Him. Due to this condition (i.e. humankind has the limited capability that would never enable him to reach out to God to know Him perfectly, His being and nature that would allow the creature to worship Him), God must reveal Himself toward His creature. Moreover, as sin has so affected the whole course of human being and thinking, humankind is made totally incapable of identifying with his sinful nature (i.e. humankind has turned away from God and continued to rebel against Him – Rom. 3:10-12), let alone coming to the knowledge of God (Eph. 4:18, 2 Cor. 4:4).
Through creation and human conscience as the forms of general revelation, even though they are supposed to carry some weights in disclosing the nature of God, they are still a little insufficient as means to prove of God’s existence and understand the purposes of creation in the course of sinful human thinking because of the fall. In fact, even the un-fallen Adam could only come to relationship and knowledge of God through God’s direct address toward him (Gen 1:28f., 2:17f.). Therefore, a further special revelation from God apart from general revelation is required if sinful humankind is to know God. As the forms of special revelation, Jesus Christ and the Scripture are essential to bring us to God, because only through Christ the barrier of sins that affects our relationship and knowledge of God was dealt with on the Cross, and through the Scripture, that testifies to Christ, it teaches us about God and enables humankind to learn of God’s purpose in sending His Son in order for humankind to respond to His saving grace.

ugh, just realise that my backpack is full of rubbishs (everything seems to be there, not that they r really full of ready-to-be-thrown-away rubbishs!), that's why it's a bit heavy. inside, got (let me check.. it's going to be boring.. bear the consequence), my lunch box, chips for sharing, lecture notes (why o why, it takes efforts to study God's words, just want them to be handy of reach when feel like reading them anytime, am excited of the subject offered this semester -Knowing God, touching the subject of doctrines, nah! seeing a couple more ipc-ers attending the class, got to be thankful for tat), un-opened/open letters (or bills to be exact), shirt for trow (am staying over at sis' place tonight), this morning just bought personal hyigene cares (an urgent pack, and styling wet-look gel, need it for my sleek silky straight fringe, otherwise looks dumb), plus accessories (important ones).. ah my not so-cool fm radio player (am broke, can't afford to buy a cool one, am not tat into looking cool, but aunty mavis told tat i've already looked cool to her, not sure what she really meant by then, rose might understand, since she was there when aunty mavis said tat, ehm.. hAhA! o mimien said tat as well, but am certain tat she must mean am rather a dead-walking body who's way far too un-impressive toward her, who can beat her, she's too sanguine for me, she sucks up all my energy, all that's left for me is to enjoy her presence, n let my energy be sucked up by her, helpless n pathetic =) so much about my backpack..
got on the express bus tis morning, was trying to find out whether it'll be more time efficient to travel via express bus on the way to workplace, but didn't think so, it is, if it's way back home. ah, always like walking down martin pl, has an attachment to this road, funny, it's busy (rush hours), full of ppl n urban camouflages, with buildings surround, hectic might be a more appropriate term for some, perhaps i just enjoy the flow of the ppl walking up and down the wide road, unknowingly their destinations, sometimes there is also the sound of guitars playing, more than often, ppl sitting on the bench, doing nothing, watching others un-avoidably, reading books, taking pictures, etc
almost daily, while walking toward bus stop from home, meet tis same high school girl, looking at each other, and then almost reaching office, meeting tis young lady who's always wearing stripes shirt (remember, meet her almost daily!), must be the obsessive compulsive behaviour that made her buying stripes shirts!
btw, tis morning, received a mass email from manager, rather cute, with a title of 'Where Am I', he was working from home till noon where he'd come for the team meeting, so he informed.
o well, it's mid of the week already!
argh, it's hot here, the air-con hasn't been functioning properly and it's in the middle of fixings since morning, that's why can't seem to sit quietly and do my tasks (and so it affected my previous post!) plus am wearing double shirts, the weather is hardly predictable nowadays, somedays it feels a bit wintry in the middle of summer, and couple of days in between, the sun is rather scorching. "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.. ", until men mess with it, as a result of our rebellion to God.. and today, things haven't seemed to be right still, until Jesus came again to restore things into a better one..

p.s. this is so un-coordinated one, and (a bit!) must be the effect of 2 Ways To Live (double arghs.. i should have worked from home today..)
it has been 8 days since i last re-charged my mobile, and only today it needs re-charging, wohoo!
eager to watch The Aviator in the cinema.
need to re-schedule my week nights, have a couple of things to look after (i.e. dvd nites, assignments, readings - eeks, hermit!)
can't seem to comprise having good snooze and exercises nowadays! (shall recompensate this and next week)

i haven't forsaken the joy of taking pictures, only haven't been able to post some recently, due to network restrictions at work place, plus haven't bought a prepaid card for the home internet connection, need to stay away from computer during weekends, by far better.
maybe could make this a project (without a due date off course, lazy goosebump =), a selection of fav pics printed on budgeted glossy papers in the future, and i hope someone will be interested to be the layout designer, hmn.. can imagine.. fun, fun, fun, tho still no concept at the moment to pull things together into something meaningful and hardly forgettable or remarkable.. hehhe (= decent budget, may need a sponsor then? in case interested, puh-leasee..)
work stuffs could seem a lot sometimes, but before they are confirmed, days go by fairly, always end up having more time to do them, no pressure so far, got used to it now a lot better.
finished composing a short letter as a reply for deyanira, short one, hope to hear more from the family, wonder if they are Cns.

Seeing Isn't Believing
cao, it's friday!
half sleep, half awake, today, doughnat.. (read: sleeepzz..sleeepzz..) why have you forsaken me.. boy, forgive abt the pessimism, can't contained, had to get home by 10 pm last nite and only got to sleep a lil later than 11 pm (first evening-course class for the semester) then had to reach office by 8.30 am this morning for the fortnightly meeting, effectively that would mean getting up at 6.30 am (need an hour to get ready, for a chick like me, it's rather normal, guess =) so, for tonite, i have to hereby declare that sleeping is my 'intangible' object of affection.. hAhA, but can multitask along listening to the CDs of 2004 EQUIP WOMAN Conference, previously had finished listening to one CD, err only =) interestingly, for the 'Making Most of the Opportunity', an elective talk by Wendy Potts, the big picture all fall in line with the ideas of building relationships with those surround us in the context of sharing our faith and life with them, how many times have this been re-emphasized, personally, have heard of the same message again and again all in the very recent occasions of master class, kyc, 2WaysToLive Bible study, the CD!
been enjoying the chats with louise for a couple of nights already since she (and husband) have been staying temporarily at my place for a 10-days holiday in syd. they r a couples from melb, humble couples as i can tell, and nice to talk with. guess all this is all part of God's providence.
a bit sad that couldn't manage to contact some uni friends, since lost their contact details last time in my mobile sim card memory. it's such an imbalance if have to compare between the numbers of Cn to non-Cn friends, which i have rarely kept in touch with once uni was over, the more toward high school friends, my last two years of high school was spent shortly in a school other than my junior high years, only manage to track down thru the class website that hadn't been updated since the year 2000 (and my name is not even in the list since i didn't finish my high school last time, but doh! why do they have to put the core personal details in the web, stupidos, lucky for me am not in the list =) i guess, many of them are over-achievers nowadays, can still well remember how competitive they were during high school (a.k.a kia-su =)
i prosecuted couple of emails from ppl slightly titled, 'I am updating my address book', by trashing them straight to the bin =). since, don't think that i like the idea of details being collected thru third-party websites which i haven't had much idea of their privacy policies (or any other strings attached tho services might be rendered free). am a great believer that those kind of websites exist at some stage to collect ppl's data and without their concerns will take advantages of those details thru some commercial gains schemes . sorry, peeps =)
also, 3 days ago, received a random phone call from a stranger old lady who represented a hotel (those phone telemarketers, but this one sounded more enticing by luring that i've won an accommodations package, while in fact, i have never been registered to any of its services), in an attempt to solicit more personal details. i simply laughed softly couple of times, enough for the other party to catch my innocent sentiment.
received my new cheap-disposable-yet-super-durable mobile phone today, had to wait till the opening hours of the post office to pick it up, and thus was late for work this morning, and to my surprise, i've to spent hours admiring it the whole day. guess how much it costs, don't click, too late, oo..you've seen it. (huahAhA...) now, you'll admire it as well =)
