my clock seems to be earlier today, hmn..

got to workplace earlier today, received my early present today, can leave work early today as well.. cool bananas! it seems like i'm enjoying to get to work and leave early, well, obviously this is only the first day, but it feels a little bit more than alright. i'm used to reaching workplace later than normal working hours, because working hours are flexible here, anyway..

was trying to get to the same bus and train with lyd and shieny this morning. but ended up only in the same train with lyd, and shieny was way left behind, a problem with the timetable, not herself =) (or is it?)

was given a donna hay's cookbook, unexpected off course (i think that they kinda forgetting the exact day, ssh), but i'm not (at least until this hour) a very much into cooking person (doesn't mean that won't be enjoying it, who knows, the only thing is the thought of cleaning things up, it'll be nice though if can meet up with others and just mess things up together, at least the cleaning part can be shared as well. haven't i told you that i have had enough with cleaning?). but agree tho, as those girls had put it down the note, it's pretty much an investment for the future (hmn, as if.., who knows my future partner may be someone who loves cooking, hmn.. nice, God please, God..). well, tks gals (rose, shieny, lyd), you will have the priviledge of enjoying the taste of my first very imperfect yet properly-done cooking later (scary, bad idea, ffuih).

p.s. just thinking that how-to books for dummies, especially guitar or photography seem to be bit more practical subjects for me than that lovely carefully thought given cookbook (don't get me wrong, i like it off course)

it has been a refreshing weekend together with some girls who attended the WKC 2004. as a package, the talks, prayers, songs, interviews, fellowships, bookshop, have all served well their purposes. great reminders as well as "being struck anew by the incredible privilege of knowing the Lord" (as the chairperson put it as the welcome note in the booklet), here are some points that i am challenged by and pray that "i may walk with God, than God walks with me":

- "to let God be God" (to trust and obey), "to learn walking as humble christian" (to serve Him).
- "God is a holy God, He demands his people to live a holy life".
- "trust and obey", not only to get blessings, for that's God's requirements of us. He do bless and give grace to His people.
- "live a more purposeful, productive, uncomplaining life, and be a happy gossiper of the Gospel".
- "truth and love are a package, learn to walk both in truth and in love".

knowing that these points obviously sound more abstract than the reality that may be presented in my daily life, keep in mind that i'm a working progress in God's hands. pray always that Christ is the model for us. an going-on reflection as i look forward to, may God's Word keep on challenging you as well.

some photos that i took during WKC 2004 are divided into 3 parts:
- a 'prelude' wrap in Matthew 6:28b-34, the passage is included (very below)
- the convention itself (only below)
- the visit to Leura's candy shop on the way home (above)
in order to be more enjoyable to view them, always start from the very below, for the sake of the flow.

tks to the guys (andreas, darwin, david, rav) who drove us! enjoying your servanthood service, hmn..?? to rose and lyd who have arranged for registration, accommodation, consumption. what a package, appreciate it! to aunt mavais, rose, sis for the ready-to-be-served warm foods! (you gals are such moms, always!) to my photos-objects, singing partners, real persons for chit-chat and company (basicly everyone who came along!). love you all.. wake up, vyie! the days are over, but the joy remains..

Do Not Worry

Matthew 6

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[1] ? 28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

it's this time again

sis' birthday on 16 Sep! (yesterday)..
so happy birthday to the birthday girl
poor girl she was sick, catching cold
though not well, it's meant to be special

i wasn't slack nor forgetting
but yesterday i wasn't online
so today a belated message
hope yesterday's a memorable one

nothing she usually expects though
year by year my innocence rules (red: or ignorance??)
but this year perhaps am a step better
though it's true it's still days later (huh!)

a glamorous bag she won't often use
but 'heinz' beans she might like them
so what to come out if not bean bag then?
i know this sucks but you've got to like it!

say yeah.. (yeaAHH..)
say hmn.. (hmnN..)
(repeat x 2 )

p.s. bad taste.. got my sore throat, what can you expect !?!

sunday escape

went to point light gallery in surry hill last sunday for jane burton taylor photographic exhibition, which features the photographes she took pretty recently less than a year old age along her travel to southern italy (of all the places that she has been to, southern italy captures her likes. jane previously worked as a travel and food journalist for fairfax press, the SMH's traveller section, plus all other successful stories and experiences gained along the journey that makes her quite a recognisable photographer), all presented in a very engaging B&W mood, full of intensity overally being my first impression.

found out that lily recently is interested in photography as well, bought her first digital srl camera half a year ago, also been hunting along for some resources on nature landscaping photography, currently doing a class as well. btw, lily introduced me to the exhibition. we walked quite a distance to locate the gallery, while in fact we were previously very close already at the first place, proved us right, women read map quite poorly, especially me =)

and oh, finally got a chance to have lunch beforehand at the japanese takeaway at the corner across the market city, a favorite one while the uni era. it was thrilling before the lunch, as lily almost lost her dear stuff, luckily it was a trial, but being paranoid toward her afterward. therefore, the lunch was quite satisfying after the adrenalin shock for a while.

so much for my plan to study on sunday (what?!? that sounds like a familiar yet strange word, ah, am amnesic, that's why it didn't work out, hmn.. no cure.. still)

May the Mind of Christ, My Savior

Kate B. Wilkinson (1859-1928)

May the mind of Christ, my Savior,
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling
All I do and say.

May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
Only through His power.

May the peace of God my Father
Rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing.

May the love of Jesus fill me
As the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self abasing,
This is victory.

May I run the race before me,
Strong and brave to face the foe,
Looking only unto Jesus
As I onward go.

May His beauty rest upon me,
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
Seeing only Him.

caffein-allergic vs alcoholic

was wondering why my eyes couldn't shut last two night ago, while brain has compellingly made the efforts to shut the whole system down. felt helpless, then realized that it was due to the effect of caffein that i had from bakers delight's coffee and dates log. remember having 5 slices of it that day (breakfast n dinner, since had to attend evening class, no, am not on diet, n i don't do this often, skipping my dinner, have nothing in store if to skip daily meal intake, man.. winter has gone, to my surprise, one n a half (of usual) portion still apply, but who cares, as long as not too much till damaging my stomach, anyway..). who would think that far, what hyper-sensitive reaction by my brain. gimme a cup of coffee, and u r killing me softly.. but sure (i hate being depraved of my sleep!).

oppositely, a little sip of alcohol from wine won't drive me nut at all, having pretty much resistant toward alcohol. don't worry, am not an alcoholic dependant, for sure, but yeah.. tks to rose for trying to convert me into one! however, it doesn't work, even with that 42% alcohol that is contained by that rather exotic pisco inca (p.s. am lying), anyway, where's the recipe for the cocktails? man.. ages. oh btw, rose, i hope this verse below hit you so hard! (hihhi, j/k)

Ephesians 5:18 - Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

what's new?

didn't expect, but was given a new bible by tri on her birthday three weeks ago! hA, make me feel bad, but wasn't her intention, she is just the kind of person who's selfless and nice. had ever told her once that would like a smaller bible to carry easily compared to the old bigger one (which papers turn yellowish due to paper-aging, ckckck, but certainly, God's Word remains). it was exactly the one i wanted, the italian-duo-tone in burgundy/tan. so, in return, bought her the new released cd from emu (We Are His People). hurrah, so can hear them as well, love emu! now, wonder which one and whom to give away, having more than one copy of the bible.

split second

almost missed last night's evening class if not for a split second decision was forcing myself to make no further excuses on skipping one. one reason may be valid (plus other make-up ones, getting good at them, j/k =), a bit fatique physically, yet still very much bearable, nothing compared with the loss if had been skipping one that covered a great lenght of John 14-17 passage. it was pretty good a covering and explanation. relieved for not submitting to 'evil' excuses. guess there should be a whole lot more of juggling between decisions and compromisings that needing fixings in the future, shouldn't give up to the flesh!

team meeting

held every second weds, so has to get to office by 8.30 am. attended the first one today, regular updates & briefings by one of the directors looking after the sunsys team. much of the issues around am still pretty much blurred, off course, but so far so good, learning to digest bit by bit. still haven't started the real work, hope won't be too much pressure by then, since it's a newly created role, most of the time may have to figure own way out, the reference manuals are just sitting at the desk staring at me, waiting to be attended (leave me alone!). had just been dumped another two today (what a wonderful world.. hmn)
